The original scientific popularization work created by Yantai City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital once again won the first prize in the municipal final of the Yantai City Health Scientific Popularization Work Collection Competition.
On November 14th, the "Enhancing the Promotion of Popular Science Works to Improve Residents' Health Literacy" 2025 Health Popular Science Works Competition of Weifang City, organized by the Weifang Municipal Health Commission and co-organized by the Weifang Municipal Disease Prevention and Control Center and the Weifang Municipal Health Comprehensive Service Center, concluded successfully. The health popular science work "Mangzhong Qishao" submitted by Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine won the first prize in the municipal final!

A total of 29 excellent works were shortlisted for the municipal final. Through a lottery, the hospital's popular science work was the first to perform on stage. At the final event, the publicity department of our hospital innovatively created a new original plot story "Mangzhong Qishao", selected the participating performance personnel for popular science, with Deputy Director Sun Lin, Associate Physician Li Deyi as the main speakers, and 5 medical staff members Zhou Jia, Sun Xiaofang, Xu Lu, Jiao Zhiemeng, and Wang Rong taking part in the performance with great enthusiasm. The popular science program was based on the classic story of Xu Xian and Bai Yangzi, using ancient costume design and lively performance forms, focusing on the core theme of "Preventing Five Toxins during the Mangzhong Season" to present the health protection knowledge. The program vividly demonstrated the mosquito breeding and "Five Toxins" activity background during the Mangzhong season, and the traditional Chinese medicine health preservation and protection knowledge. The work not only enhanced the content appeal through the classic IP but also made the popular science dissemination more interesting and immersive.

The participating works this time inherited the essence of traditional Chinese medicine culture in a way that the public could easily understand, allowing the audience to intuitively master the health protection skills against "Five Toxins" in a relaxed atmosphere. This effectively promoted the popularization of traditional Chinese medicine culture into the lives of the general public. After strict evaluation by professional judges, the original program "Mangzhong Qishao" ultimately stood out from many participating works and successfully won the first prize in the municipal final! It is worth noting that the rehearsal for this work only took 5 hours, and under such a tight rehearsal schedule, it still presented a high-quality work with both scientific nature and entertainment value.

This award was not accidental; it was another achievement of the hospital's continuous deepening of health popular science work. Looking back at the 2024 Weifang City Health Popular Science Competition, the popular science work "Yi Lu Jing Cheng" created by Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine won the first prize with its unique creative design and wonderful on-stage performance. The winning of this "Mangzhong Qishao" award was even more a repeat of the first prize in the municipal competition!
In the future, Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will continue to deepen the promotion of health knowledge, focus on the health needs of the public, fully leverage the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, and create more practical, widely popular, and well-received high-quality health popular science works, providing more comprehensive, professional, and high-quality health popular science services to the public, and truly safeguarding the health of the people in the port city, contributing the strength of traditional Chinese medicine to improving the health literacy of regional residents.
