Founded in 1958, Yantai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has developed into a Grade III Class A TCM hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and rehabilitation. It is a comprehensive hospital combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine. The hospital is currently an affiliated hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a national key construction unit for TCM characteristic hospitals, a national standardized training base for general practitioners of TCM, a national standardized training base for TCM physicians, a Shandong Provincial postdoctoral innovation practice base, and a Shandong Provincial joint training base for postgraduate students.
The hospital is located in the core area of the Xingfu district in Zhifu District. Its east and west sections are separated by Xingfu Road and connected by an overpass. The hospital covers a total area of 56,000 square meters, with a building area of over 110,000 square meters and more than 1,100 beds. Using this as a hub, the hospital has strategically established four outpatient clinics in Zhifu District, Development Zone, and Laishan District, and spearheaded the formation of a regional medical consortium, collaborating deeply with 17 medical institutions. The hospital is a "Joint Postgraduate Training Base" of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a "Western Medicine to Traditional Medicine Training Base" of Shandong Province, and a "Village Doctor Training Base" of Yantai City. The hospital is equipped with advanced domestic and international medical equipment, including United Imaging 3.0T and Philips 1.5T MRI, United Imaging linear accelerator, SPECT, focused ultrasound tumor ablation machine, Philips 256-slice CT, and Neusoft ultra-high-end CT, with 55 units costing over one yuan.
