Recently, Yang Chendong, the deputy chief physician of the Geriatrics Department of Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, was invited by the Alumni Association of the Chinese Medicine College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct a special lecture on "Exploring Several Pulse Techniques in The Inner Classic from Cang Gong's Medical Records" in Hong Kong. He integrated the classic pulse theory with clinical practice, presenting an academic feast that was both innovative and practical for the Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine community. This event was not only a vivid practice of the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine classics, but also showcased the fruitful achievements of the youth talent cultivation in Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. It marked that the academic influence of the hospital has deeply radiated into the Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine field, and has built a solid bridge for the academic exchange between Shandong and Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine.

As a key young academic talent cultivated by the hospital, Yang Chen Dong possesses both profound classical knowledge and rich clinical experience. During his special lectures at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he started with the classic case of "Zang Gong's Medical Records", systematically expounding the theoretical essence and inheritance lineage of the pulse method in "The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic", and elaborating in depth on the methods of "Ren Ying Qi Kou Pulse Method", "Three Parts Nine Sections Pulse Method", and "Four Seasons Five Zang Organs Pulse Method". Different from traditional pure theoretical teaching, he innovatively adopted an interactive model of "lecturing + pulse diagnosis teaching", inviting participants to practice on the spot. Through hands-on guidance on pulse recognition skills, he transformed the abstract pulse theory into practical clinical skills. In the future, the hospital will continue to deepen the strategic layout for the cultivation of young talents, improve the talent cultivation mechanism, encourage young physicians to go beyond Shandong, to the whole country and even overseas, using academia as a bond and talents as a bridge, continuously expanding the channels for external exchanges, allowing the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine classics to shine on a broader stage, and contributing more to the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine culture and its global dissemination.
