To promote the application of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnosis and treatment model in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, and to improve patient, the 3rd "Jingkang Cup" Young Doctors' Case Presentation Competition, hosted by the Oncology Rehabilitation Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, was recently held in Beijing The Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Oncology MDT Rehabilitation Team stood out from numerous competing teams with its solid professional capabilities and innovative treatment plans, winning the first prize with an outstanding overall score first place.

The purpose of this competition is to actively promote the MDT diagnosis and treatment model in the oncology rehabilitation bases of the Chinese Geriatrics Society. Through close cooperation between disciplines, high-quality and full-process rehabilitation treatment is provided to cancer patients to promote the early achievement of the three goals of "returning to self", "returning to family", "returning to society". After multiple rounds of screening, excellent young doctor teams from 15 oncology rehabilitation bases across the country gathered to engage in fierce competition around the diagnosis and treatment of complex cases, rehabilitation strategies, and the improvement of patients' quality of life. Our hospital's representative team consists of five outstanding young physicians: Deputy Chief Physician Meng Peng from Fourth Oncology Department, Deputy Chief Physician Wang Guoliang from the Pulmonary Department, Attending Physician Zhang Kangle from the Third Oncology Department, Attending Physician Li Qiulai from the Department, and Rehabilitation Physician Luan Qilong from the Rehabilitation Department. The presentation title was "Working Together with One Heart, Moving Forward on the Path of Pancreas - Case of Long-term Survival and Rehabilitation Treatment for an Elderly Patient with Advanced Pancreatic Cancer and Grade II Heart Failure". Based on their respective professional fields, the team worked together and tasks to systematically and comprehensively present the challenges faced by the patient during cancer treatment and rehabilitation, as well as the personalized treatment and rehabilitation plans adopted, focusing on key and difficult issues such "rehabilitation plan for advanced pancreatic cancer with Grade II heart failure" and "treatment strategies beyond the third line for advanced pancreatic cancer". Especially on the basis of cutting-edge rehabilitation concepts and technologies, the team further integrated measures such as traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal medicine, psychological intervention, nutritional support, cardiac rehabilitation, functional exercise, and follow-up to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. This fully embodies the "patient-centered" oncology rehabilitation concept and won unanimous praise from the expert judges. At the scene of the MD case presentation competition, leaders and experts, including Professor Yang Yufei, Chairman of the Oncology Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Qihuang Scholar, and Professor Xu Yun, Director of the Oncology Department of Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, presented awards to our hospitals contestants and took group photos.

As one of the oncology rehabilitation bases of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital always adheres to the principle of being "-centered", taking "therapeutic effect" as the foundation, and featuring the full-process management of both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. In the field of oncology rehabilitation, the hospital explores and practices, and the patient's medical experience and overall rehabilitation effect are continuously improved. Our hospital will take this competition as an opportunity to continue to deeply promote the multidisciplinary team (M) diagnosis and treatment model, gather the capabilities of experts, integrate the strength of the entire hospital, write a new chapter in the construction of the oncology rehabilitation discipline, and light the hope of life for more patients.
