Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was founded in 1958. It is currently a tertiary Grade A traditional Chinese medicine hospital with outstanding traditional Chinese medicine characteristics and advantages in combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and rehabilitation. It is an affiliated hospital of Shandong University of Chinese Medicine, a national "standardized training base for traditional Chinese medicine resident physicians", and a "national key hospital project construction unit for traditional Chinese medicine characteristics". The hospital currently covers an area of 28000 square meters, with a building area of 68000 square meters and 730 open beds. The expanded hospital area that has started construction covers an area of 28000 square meters, while the newly built hospital area covers an area of 179200 square meters. The total fixed assets of the hospital are 320 million yuan, with an annual outpatient and emergency volume of over 470000 people and over 20000 discharged patients.

There are 1164 employees on duty in the hospital, including 854 employees, 285 non staff members, and 25 retired and rehired personnel. There are currently 135 in-service senior technical title personnel (40 senior and 95 deputy senior), 358 intermediate technical title personnel, 356 junior and below technical title personnel, 265 master's degree or above personnel, accounting for 32.60%, and 63.57% of them are practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. In the past three years, 59 master's and high-level talents have been recruited and introduced. The hospital currently has 21 administrative functional departments, 46 clinical medical technology departments, and 3 outpatient departments outside the hospital. We have three national key specialties, namely the Oncology Department, the Spleen and Stomach Disease Department, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Prevention and Health Service Center. Among them, the Oncology Department is also the Shandong Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Specialized Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center and the Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology Clinical Medical Research Center. The hospital is responsible for teaching full-time master's degree programs at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and clinical teaching tasks at multiple undergraduate and vocational colleges.
