The Special Inspection Department recently conducted a C13 breath test
C13 breath test examination mainly has the following advantages:
(1)The inspection results are more accurate. The sample is stored at room temperature and in a darkened state for 24 hours, and the results are not affected in any way.
(2)The inspection process is safe, easy and fast.C13 inspection,it is not radioactive, and there is no harm to the human body and the environment. The operation is simple, and the result is given in three minutes;the subject only needs to take two breaths, and the compliance is good.
(3)Suitable for a wide range of people.Suitable for all ages, including children, pregnant women, and the elderly and infirm.
(4)Special reagents,safe and convenient.
(5)Reagents,quickly absorbed.
The previous 14C breath test was still carried out,but because 14C contains radioactivity, the 13C breath test is safer, more accurate, and more convenient. Therefore, the 13C breath test has become one of the mainstream methods for detecting Helicobacter pylori infection.
Contraindications to C13 breath test,including:
1.Pregnant women:Pregnant women should not be tested during the 13C breath test because their safety has not been fully verified.
2.Young children:Studies have shown that the accuracy of the 13C breath test in children under 2 years old may be affected,so it is not recommended for children of this age to undergo a breath test.
3.Patients with severe liver disease:The 13C breath test requires normal degradation and metabolism of the liver to produce accurate results. For patients with severe liver disease, their metabolic capacity is weak, which may affect the accuracy of the test results.
In addition, for patients who have undergone gastric surgery, continue to take antibiotics, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastric inflammation or ulcers, etc.,it is not suitable for a 13C breath test. Before performing a 13C breath test, patients are required to describe in detail their medical history and the drug treatment options they have received.
