Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital 2026 New Year Message – Paddle Forward on a New Journey, Sail Together Toward the Horizon
As the year draws to a close and a new cycle begins, as the first rays of dawn in 2026 gently warm the earth, on this beautiful occasion of bidding farewell to the old and embracing the new, I extend, on behalf of the Party Committee of Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, our most sincere holiday greetings to all staff members who have worked diligently and contributed silently; to medical personnel engaged in paired assistance programs; to family members, retired colleagues, and trainees who have generously supported the hospital's development; to our valued patients who trust us; and to leaders at all levels and friends from all walks of life who have long cared for and supported the hospital’s growth and progress.
Looking back on 2025, it was a year of determined progress and abundant achievements in the hospital's high-quality development. With unity and dedication throughout the entire institution, we advanced with practical action—using our expertise to safeguard public health, conveying compassion through humane care, and serving the broader development agenda with responsibility. In alignment with the strategic goals of Healthy China, we continued writing a chapter of medical excellence marked by selfless healing and boundless love.
This year, we have deepened our business operations and enhanced service efficiency, continuously strengthening our brand influence. By maintaining a balanced emphasis on both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine, and highlighting the distinctive integration of the two, the hospital has achieved remarkable development. Throughout the year, we applied for 41 new technologies and projects at national, provincial, and municipal levels; progress in establishing the VTE prevention and treatment center has been solid, with an increasingly comprehensive prevention system; we fully implemented the RRS system to build a standardized emergency care loop, significantly improving treatment efficiency; we continued to strengthen TCM specialty services by launching classical TCM clinics and classical formula workstations, and establishing a radiation therapy department; pharmaceutical services were further optimized, with nearly 2.5 million doses of bulk herbal decoctions and approximately 1.6 million doses of decocted medicines prepared throughout the year. The hospital was successfully selected as a pilot unit for the National Center for Geriatric Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Services and awarded the title "National Model Unit for Elderly Care," significantly enhancing its brand strength and industry recognition. We upgraded our smart hospital system, further advancing intelligent medical services and substantially improving patient convenience. We expanded preventive healthcare services under the concept of "treating before illness" to make TCM services warmer and more accessible. We successfully hosted the Yantai Autumn Ocean Fair and the First Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Market, further elevating our TCM cultural service brand and bringing the benefits of TCM into everyday life for a broader population.
This year, we have focused on advancing education and science, strengthened innovation-driven development, and steadily enhanced our overall strength. As the host institution for 17 municipal quality control centers—including the Yantai Municipal Quality Control Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing and the Yantai Municipal Quality Control Center for TCM Pharmaceutical Affairs—the hospital has effectively led standardized development of the regional traditional Chinese medicine industry. We successfully completed key initiatives such as national standardized training for TCM physicians, retraining programs for core faculty in general practice under TCM, rural doctor training in Yantai, and TCM nursing capacity building, making solid contributions to talent cultivation and innovative inheritance in TCM. In the latest announcement regarding provincial scientific and technological achievements registered in 2024, our hospital ranked 28th nationwide, highlighting our strong innovation capabilities and competitiveness in research.
This year, we deepened resource integration and expanded our medical footprint, continuously enhancing service capacity. The eastern campus (expanded section) of the hospital has been fully operational, achieving optimized allocation of medical resources, upgraded clinical environments, and improved service efficiency, providing strong momentum for high-quality hospital development. Renovation and upgrading of the old campus have progressed steadily, with Phase I completed and put into use—outpatient facilities and area layouts have been completely renewed, significantly improving patient satisfaction. A new development model featuring "one hospital, two campuses, multiple wings" has taken shape, further expanding the reach of our services. We have added 10 multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinics to precisely address complex and difficult diagnoses, comprehensively enhancing service capabilities. We actively advanced the construction of medical alliances and external collaborations, signing cooperation agreements with Shandong Pharmaceutical and Food Vocational College, forming a medical alliance with 17 healthcare institutions, and jointly launching health initiatives with organizations such as the Yantai Military Retirees' Rest Home. These efforts ensure high-quality resources are delivered directly to communities and make public-benefit services more accessible and vibrant.
This year, we have strengthened cultural development to shape our soul and enhanced education to empower growth, continuously demonstrating strong spiritual cohesion. By reinforcing hospital culture, deeply refining its core values, and clarifying strategic direction and development goals, we have fully integrated the mission of "public trust and outstanding reputation" into every aspect of medical services, discipline building, and talent cultivation. As a result, our cultural soft power has steadily increased, providing solid spiritual support for the hospital's high-quality development.
The journey ahead is long, and only hard work will carry us forward. Looking back on our path, every step toward high-quality development of the hospital has been marked by the determination and perseverance of all staff; every achievement reflects the wisdom and sweat of our entire team.
A new journey carries a new mission, and a fresh starting point calls for new actions.
Finally, I sincerely wish our great nation prosperity and peace, and all of you a happy new year, good health, and all your wishes fulfilled!
