Several months ago, Ms. Duan, who was 29 weeks pregnant, suddenly experienced severe pain in her left lower abdomen that did not subside, accompanied by nausea and vomiting—her condition was critical. Her family quickly rushed her to the hospital. An ultrasound examination revealed a strong echo mass about 1 cm in diameter at the initial segment of her left ureter, with hydronephrosis observed above it. The preliminary diagnosis was left hydronephrosis due to ureteral stones, which caused deep concern for both Ms. Duan and her family.
