As the days pass and the seasons change, a new year dawns. We also extend our sincerest wishes to the citizens of Yantai. 
Looking back, in the past year, our hospital has been fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, striving and forging ahead. It has been the year of the hospital's "14th Five-Year Plan" implementation, the year of efficient progress in the construction of the east campus, and the year of critical transition from "full momentum" to "transformation and leap". This year has presented numerous opportunities and challenges. The vast majority of the hospital's staff, with the original aspiration of "dedication and sincerity, serving the people", have, under the guidance of the strategic concept of integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine, boldly innovated and bravely explored. As a result, the hospital has made many breakthroughs in its work, with outstanding achievements in cultural construction, discipline building, scientific and educational training, mentorship programs, and external exchanges, presenting a dazzling array of highlights. 
In 2024, the hospital intensified its management of medical services, improved medical efficiency, and provided high-quality medical care to more patients. We successfully introduced the studio of renowned national doctor Gao Shuzhong and the expert team from Beijing's top hospitals. Visiting Beijing's medical facilities without leaving the city has become a consensus among many citizens. The hospital's residency training base was awarded the title of "Outstanding Postgraduate Training Base" by Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; the Chest Pain Center officially passed the national Chest Pain Center (Community Edition) certification; the Oncology Department and the Gastrointestinal Disease Department are both national key specialties and have successfully been selected as national superior specialties in traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital successfully established itself as a Shandong Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, a bed-side teaching base of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a clinical teaching base for specialized nursing in traditional Chinese medicine in Weifang. In various fields of technological innovation, to academic debates; from the exploration of unique traditional Chinese medicine therapies to multiple training courses of various academic conferences, all reflect the hospital's strong technical strength. The number of academic conferences held in 2024 was the highest in history, and the hospital's academic status within the region has been continuously improving. The hospital won the first prize at the national level in both skills competitions and research projects, and many projects won the top three in provincial and municipal competitions. The spiritual civilization and hospital culture construction have achieved great success, and all the goals set at the beginning of the year have been excellently accomplished. 
What seems easy turns out to be the most extraordinary; what appears effortless is actually very challenging. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 66th anniversary of the establishment of this hospital. We are well aware that the 66-year history encompasses numerous twists and turns, as well as arduous journeys. Generations of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners who have carried forward the essence of Qiming have been diligent, hardworking, and striving. Under the care and guidance of the Party and at all levels of leadership, the hospital has grown and developed step by step, becoming an indispensable and important force in the health care sector of Yantai. We cherish the past, grasp the present, and look forward to a brighter future! 
Time flows, years pass, a new chapter has begun. Look up and see. 
At present, all the work of the hospital is trending positively. Through the three-year integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, the unique advantages have gradually become prominent. The three major forces - disciplines, talents and technology - are accelerating their progress. The expansion of the East Hospital District will be launched in 2025. The hospital is brimming with unlimited potential and hope! Of course, there will also be greater difficulties and pressures. We will lay a solid foundation through ideological and political education, lead with new quality, give equal emphasis to traditional Chinese and Western medicine, integrate medical, teaching and research, and persist in innovation and development. We will deepen the connotation construction of the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, focus on enhancing comprehensive service capabilities, explore more effective methods, and provide patients with more precise, high-quality, efficient and convenient medical services. 
Last year, everything went smoothly. This year, everything is even more satisfactory. The new calendar has turned to the first page. In the new year, let's adhere to putting people's health at the center, take reform and innovation as the driving force, aim to effectively improve the medical treatment experience of the people, and integrate "patient-centeredness" into all aspects of medical services. In the new journey, we will strive for excellence and empower the hospital's high-quality development with "new quality productive forces".
