Hospital News | National-level Training Program on Construction and Management of Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Specialties Successfully Held in Yantai, Charting a New Blueprint for Coordinated Development
In order to thoroughly implement the "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Promoting the Inheritance and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine", and fully implement the deployment requirements of the "Implementation Plan for Improving the Service Capacity of Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation (2021-2025)". On September 13th, the "Specialized Training Course on the Construction and Management of Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation (Second Session)" was successfully held, jointly organized by the China Ethnic Medicine Association and the Rehabilitation Branch of the China Ethnic Medicine Association, as well as Yantai City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc.

This training course focused on the core issues of the construction and management of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation, gathering 120 authoritative experts, scholars, and industry representatives from all over the country. The aim was to jointly draw a new blueprint for the coordinated development of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation through sharing experiences and intellectual collisions. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Tan Song, the vice president of Yantai City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Party Secretary and President of Yantai City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Wang Yunqiang, in his speech, first warmly welcomed the experts and trainees who came from afar, and then introduced the hospital's development history and its exploration and achievements in the field of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation. Currently, the hospital has 2 national key specialties, 2 national superior specialties in traditional Chinese medicine, and 8 provincial key specialties. The hospital has been rated as a national three-level public hospital performance assessment A grade for six consecutive years, with the highest ranking of 38th in the country and the first in the province among municipal-level traditional Chinese medicine hospitals. Among them, the rehabilitation department, as one of the key developed specialties of the hospital, has successfully been established as a provincial key specialty, the chair unit of the Yantai City Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Quality Control Center, and the chair unit of the Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Yantai City Chinese Medicine Association, achieving remarkable results in neurorehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, pain rehabilitation, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and cardiac rehabilitation, and is highly trusted by patients.
The Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Party Committee of the Yantai Municipal Health Commission, Zhao Quanhong, in his speech, pointed out that Yantai attaches great importance to the development of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation and has included it in the overall layout of the city's health and wellness. Currently, the city has formed a three-level service network with municipal traditional Chinese medicine hospitals as the leaders, county-level traditional Chinese medicine hospitals as the backbone, and grassroots medical institutions as the basis, effectively improving the accessibility and quality of services, and providing comprehensive and multi-level health guarantees for the people. "We look forward to through training exchanges, ideological collisions, stimulating innovative inspiration, uniting collective consensus, and jointly exploring new paths and opportunities for the future development of rehabilitation specialties."
Professor Liu Jun, the president of the Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Guangdong Province (Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Fifth Clinical College of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine), combined the industry development trend and shared the experience and thoughts on the construction of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation specialties, encouraging the trainees to cherish the learning opportunities and jointly promote the development of the industry.
During the event, Yantai City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine officially became a "Unit of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Rehabilitation Alliance", and the attending leaders jointly揭牌the plaque of the rehabilitation alliance unit. "This is both an honor and a responsibility," said Secretary Wang Yunqiang. After the opening ceremony, the training courses officially began.
