Health News | Brain Disease Department of Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Conducts Free Medical Consultation on World Sleep Day
To celebrate the 25th World Sleep Day and in response to the national "Healthy China" initiative, to enhance residents' awareness of sleep health, on the morning of March 21st, the expert team from the Neurology Department of Yantai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital held an "Healthy Sleep - The Preferred Choice" free medical consultation activity in the first-floor lobby of the hospital's outpatient building.

The establishment of World Sleep Day is to address the increasingly serious sleep problems worldwide. Lack of sleep and deteriorating sleep quality have become common issues in modern society, affecting people's physical and mental health as well as their quality of life. Many people suffer from problems related to sleep, such as insomnia, fatigue, lack of concentration, and mood swings.
Dr. Sun Lin, the deputy director of the Neurology Department, and Dr. Wang Zhenxing, the deputy director of the Department of Neurology, answered common questions such as insomnia and frequent dreams for the citizens who came for consultation. They also popularized knowledge about healthy sleep and provided personalized suggestions. Head Nurse Li Mei and Resident Nurse Zhou Jia offered services of ear acupuncture and blood pressure measurement to the citizens. At the same time, they prepared the Yuyanshenshen Tea for the citizens to drink. By stimulating the ear acupoints to regulate the functions of internal organs and combining with natural herbs taken orally to soothe the nerves, many patients reported that "the tension in the head was significantly relieved and they felt much more relaxed" on the spot.
Sleep health is an important cornerstone of the overall health of the public. This charity medical consultation activity, taking advantage of the "World Sleep Day", not only provided health consultation and medical services to the residents, but also enhanced the awareness and coping ability of the patients towards sleep disorders. In the future, the Neurology Center will further collaborate with various communities to carry out health services, helping to build a "quality sleep" defense line, and continuously improving health literacy to share a healthy life.
